Mended little Hearts of Central Virginia is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization providing hope, help, and healing to heart patients and their families. It is made up of the people it serves - moms, dads, children, and families affected by congenital heart defects - along with medical professionals and community members working with these families.
Mended Little Hearts of Central Virginia hosts educational programs, promotes awareness of congenital heart disease, works with medical professionals in the area, connects families with local resources and each other, and supports families in their communities.
Nothing can replace in-person connections with others facing a similar journey. Mended Little Hearts of Central Virginia group meetings provide invaluable peer-to-peer interaction and a forum for families to make personal connections with each other and the medical community. Children with heart defects can meet others like them, with similar scars, and know that they are not alone. Parents can meet other parents and caregivers who have similar joys, fears, concerns and hopes.
